About “Finding Joy”

And I’m off…. the 16-day adventure begins. The timing of this trip is interesting so I’m naming it “Finding Joy in the Journey.” I’ll be doing one dedicated post each day (at the end of the day or next morning). Since I typically post more than once a day, you’ll find it as a black and white photo. I’ll share the joy of the journey (on the trip or through this season), where I’m finding it and what I’m learning. I hope to inspire myself along the way. And if I can inspire others too, that would be a gift. So let the journey begin…

It was November 2017 and I was ready to head off on a sixteen-day trip.  Nine days before leaving, my mom unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack. It shook me to my core.  I had always been told the 40’s are the best years of your life.  And in a matter of three years, since turning the age of 40, I had gone through a divorce and lost both parents.

I contemplated canceling the trip though I knew my mom would not be happy with that decision. She would want me to continue living my life.  My parents did not raise me to sit back and watch life; instead to fully participate in every moment. So I promised my parents to find joy in the journey everyday on my sixteen-day trip and share my experience with others.

Little did I know what “Finding the Joy in the Journey” would turn into when I acted on the prompting to share my experience on a daily basis.  It helped me see life differently and my wish is that it will inspire others find joy in their journey.

The Gals Are Back Together Again-Day 1,386-Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,386 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 8/20/2021

The Gals Are Back Together Again.

The gals are back together again. It’s been a while since we all hung out, so it was great fun to have dinner and snacks with Tina and Jill at the club on Friday evening. Yes, the guys were there too though they don’t like pictures like we do. Ha ha ha!

Committed-Day 1,385 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,385 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Thursday – 8/19/2021

Committed to Date Night

I love that Steve and I are committed to having date night every week. No matter if we are traveling or if we are home, we are committed to spending one evening out each week together. It may be golf and dinner or trying a new restaurant, though something that no matter what, we make sure it happens. Having both been married before, I think we both know that a marriage needs to be nurtured and the line of communication kept open. I love that date night helps us do both of these things!

My Fitness-Day 1,384 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,384 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Wednesday – 8/18/2021

My Body and Fitness

My fitness. I was so glad to get back to Hot Yoga class today. I hadn’t been to this class in over two weeks. It’s amazing how much my body feels different and out of practice when I take two weeks off from yoga. One of my favorite things about hot is that the routine is the same every time. I can tell from day to day or week to week on how my body is doing. It’s amazing how much difference my balance or flexibility can be from day to day. Yoga has really helped me focus on doing my best and realizing my best is not the same every day!

Curious, what is something that if you don’t do for a week or two, you really notice the difference?

Being Blonde-Day 1,383 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,383 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Tuesday – 8/17/2021

Being Blonde

Beauty Day! I have to admit, I’ve been coloring my hair since I was a freshman in high school. I was blonde as a kid, and it just started getting darker and I relate to being blonde. So, I’ve done it ever since I was 15 years old. And I love it! There are some things over time we give up and others we never plan on giving up. Being blonde is something I see I’ll always do and be.

What about you? What’s one thing you do, that takes time, though you plan on keeping doing it for the long haul?

Joy Is Found In Laughter-Day 1,382 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,382 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Monday – 8/16/2021

Laughter

In finding joy, I believe one of the best types of Joy is found in laughter.

After being a little startled by the alligator (aka Perry of Prestwick) being out of the lake, I had to laugh at his position. It’s like he knew the sign was about him. And just in case you didn’t believe it, he was sure to make sure you believed it now. Lol!

Of course, these aren’t things that were running through my mind…along with “I hope he stays put! How fast cam he run?”

In finding joy, I believe one of the best types of Joy is found in laughter.

Exactly Alike-Day 1,381 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,381 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Sunday – 8/15/2021

Dressed Exactly Alike

You just have to laugh when you meet your girlfriend at the hotel so you can head to the airport, and you are dressed exactly alike. Great minds must think alike!

Anyone remember when we used to do this on purpose?

We would call up our bestie and say, let’s dress alike tomorrow!

If You Can Dream It-Day 1,380 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,380 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Saturday – 8/14/2021

If you can dream it, you can do it!

If you can dream it, you can do it! That is one of the biggest lessons I have always taken out of the Promptings Academy seminars. The I Am statements help fuel those dreams. I loved today’s exercise of writing my I am’s in a card, sending it to myself and watching it be printed. It was a magical day for so many of our affiliates and guests both at our corporate office and streaming the event. I see many dreams coming true as we go to work and believe what is possible!

Inspired-Day 1,379 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,379 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 8/13/2021

Inspired

I am even more inspired by where we are going with Greener Still after listening to Kody Bateman share the vision of our company to our Live Studio Audience and to the Streamers. He laid out a simple plan for our affiliates to follow and where that simple plan will take us in the next three years. We know that when you focus on the relationship, you will always win in life and in business.

Day 1,378 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Thursday – 8/12/2021

Over A Year

It’s been over a year and half since many of us were last together. So fun to go to dinner with some of my fellow Greener Still Affiliates before we kick off our Promptings Academy this weekend. I love that we have 30 of our Affiliates coming in to be a LIVE Studio Audience for our Virtual Promptings Academy on Saturday.
