Turning Over a New Leaf in 2021. Day 1,167 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,167 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Wednesday – 1/13/2021

Turning over a new leaf in 2021.

Turning over a new leaf in 2021. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is clean off my desk before I start my day. I’ve never been one to have a clean desk on a daily basis. I’ve also learned that cleaning my desk at the end of the day is not me. Though picking up each morning before I start, is bringing much joy to my day.

Sometimes it’s just finding the little things that you make smile and a routine that works you!

About “Finding Joy”

And I’m off…. the 16-day adventure begins. The timing of this trip is interesting so I’m naming it “Finding Joy in the Journey.” I’ll be doing one dedicated post each day (at the end of the day or next morning). Since I typically post more than once a day, you’ll find it as a black and white photo. I’ll share the joy of the journey (on the trip or through this season), where I’m finding it and what I’m learning. I hope to inspire myself along the way. And if I can inspire others too, that would be a gift. So let the journey begin…

It was November 2017 and I was ready to head off on a sixteen-day trip.  Nine days before leaving, my mom unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack. It shook me to my core.  I had always been told the 40’s are the best years of your life.  And in a matter of three years, since turning the age of 40, I had gone through a divorce and lost both parents.

I contemplated canceling the trip though I knew my mom would not be happy with that decision. She would want me to continue living my life.  My parents did not raise me to sit back and watch life; instead to fully participate in every moment. So I promised my parents to find joy in the journey everyday on my sixteen-day trip and share my experience with others.

Little did I know what “Finding the Joy in the Journey” would turn into when I acted on the prompting to share my experience on a daily basis.  It helped me see life differently and my wish is that it will inspire others find joy in their journey.

Gratitude-Day 1,166 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,166 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Tuesday – 1/12/2021

Gratitude

Gratitude is something that has been part of my life and my journey for a long time. I’ve been a card sender and appreciate the people and things in my life.

In the last few months, I have upped my gratitude by writing down 10 things every morning that I am grateful for. I don’t build the same list every day, I try to find 10 new things I am grateful for each day.

Today, I am grateful for you! Thank you for being part of my journey and allowing me to be part of yours!

It was 39 degrees out-Day 1,165 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,165 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Monday – 1/11/2021

It was 39 degrees out

It was 39 degrees out, I had planned on going to yoga today though my schedule ended up being reworked and none of the classes worked into my day, and the last thing I wanted to do was go outside. Though I’ve made a commitment to make some type of exercise part of my daily routine. With the trip to Vegas I had missed a few days and was adamant I wouldn’t allow another day to pass without something to move my body. So I bundled up and headed out on the walk.

We’ve had a lot of rain and part of the sidewalk was covered. It made me stop and think about how many times I stop in my tracks because my plan has an obstacle. Do I just not do it, put it off or quit when there is an obstacle?

Or do I focus on what I can do to go around or through the obstacle like I did today when I couldn’t make yoga class. I didn’t really like the option, though I did it anyway as I didn’t want the obstacle to stop me. Curious, is there an obstacle that you are allowing to get in your way?

Top 100 List #83-Day 1,163 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,163 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Saturday – 1/9/2021

Top 100 List #83: Fly on a private 5-star jet

Wow! What an amazing opportunity to knock this goal off my Top 100 List. I shared the private jet and day of training/dream building with 9 other people. My dreams definitely grew today. We flew from Las Vegas to San Diego and then had a full day of training and dream building with a private chef. We watched the sunset over Mission Beach before heading back on the jet to Las Vegas. What an amazing day creating beautiful memories and new friendships. When I wrote this dream down in 2012, it was just a thought that today became a reality.

My very first trip for 2021-Day 1,162 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,162 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 1/8/2021

My very first trip for 2021

My very first trip for 2021 is a gift to myself for accomplishing a big goal of mine during 2020. This gift is something that has been on my Top 100 list since I wrote my first list at the end of 2012. It’s also been on a vision board I created at the end of 2014 that hangs across from my desk and I look at every day. This weekend I get to make that goal/vision a reality. The stories of your mind do become the stories of your life. So what are you dreaming of doing? Write it down! Create a vision board! Go after your dreams!

A Better Way is coming-Day 1,161 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,161 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Thursday – 1/7/2021

A Better Way is coming.

A Better Way is coming. Our company is fast approaching the announcement of our 5 new income streams on January 30. I love what I do and with what is happening in our coming right now, I feel the energy that is being created within the company and by my team. As a team we had a record month in December and to know that was only from one of six steams. Wow! A Better Way is really coming!

I never liked going to the gym-Day 1,160 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,160 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Wednesday – 1/6/2021

I never liked going to the gym

I never liked going to the gym. I really don’t love exercising either. Though when I found yoga, something definitely shifted for me. My yoga studio is a place where I feel I belong. It’s all about focusing on my mat, my breath and how my body feels today. It reminds me that my body is not the same from day to day. That it not being the same is neither good nor bad, it’s just different. My yoga practice has help me to love myself and my body more. To accept myself and my body. To embrace my practice and enjoy the journey. To focus more on the becoming than the being. I’m so happy that YogaSix opened near my house and all of the great

Lashes! Day 1,159 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,159 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Tuesday – 1/5/2021

Lashes!

Lashes! Yes, they bring me joy! I believe we should all have things that we splurge on for ourselves to make us happy. For me, it’s having my lashes done. Splurges don’t have to cost money, it could be something as simple as treating yourself to spending time in nature, going for a hike, or reading a book for fun. Curious?! What is one of your favorite splurges?

Day 1,158 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Monday – 1/4/2021

The first Monday morning of 2021 and I was greeted with a beautiful dawn out of my office window. I love early mornings and being up as it turns from dusk to dawn. First light and sunrises definitely make me smile as it’s a start to a new day and being Monday a new year to make things happen in my business world!
