About “Finding Joy”

And I’m off…. the 16-day adventure begins. The timing of this trip is interesting so I’m naming it “Finding Joy in the Journey.” I’ll be doing one dedicated post each day (at the end of the day or next morning). Since I typically post more than once a day, you’ll find it as a black and white photo. I’ll share the joy of the journey (on the trip or through this season), where I’m finding it and what I’m learning. I hope to inspire myself along the way. And if I can inspire others too, that would be a gift. So let the journey begin…

It was November 2017 and I was ready to head off on a sixteen-day trip.  Nine days before leaving, my mom unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack. It shook me to my core.  I had always been told the 40’s are the best years of your life.  And in a matter of three years, since turning the age of 40, I had gone through a divorce and lost both parents.

I contemplated canceling the trip though I knew my mom would not be happy with that decision. She would want me to continue living my life.  My parents did not raise me to sit back and watch life; instead to fully participate in every moment. So I promised my parents to find joy in the journey everyday on my sixteen-day trip and share my experience with others.

Little did I know what “Finding the Joy in the Journey” would turn into when I acted on the prompting to share my experience on a daily basis.  It helped me see life differently and my wish is that it will inspire others find joy in their journey.

The Perfect Place Day 1,106 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,106 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 11/13/2020

The Perfect Place

At the perfect place to catch this fun photo while playing golf with my friends during the late afternoon. I love sunsets and the big Texas sky. I’ve always loved taking photos too. After a very productive week in my business, it was nice to get away from my desk for a few hours and enjoy the great outdoors!

The “World is Yours” Day 1,105 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,105 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Thursday – 11/12/2020

The “World is Yours”

Just a reminder that the “world is yours!” I love this. As I was finishing up at my desk late tonight, this visual struck me and my first thought was “YES!” What we do now, will set up our future. Taking the hard path now, can create an easier path later. Though if you always choose the easy path and avoid the hard things in life, the road will get harder later on. Do the hard work now so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. The world is waiting!

Just a reminder that the "world is yours!" I love this.

Thank You-Day 1,104 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,104 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Wednesday – 11/11/2020

Thank You

Thank you to all of the Veterans that serve and have served. You risk your life to give the rest of us our freedom. It was nice to celebrate with two of my Veteran friends with a round of golf. Afterwards, dinner at the club where every table had a picture of a member of the club that is a Veteran! So cool!

Thank you, Dennis Osburn and Tina Nguyen Burr, for your service!

Day 1,102 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Monday – 11/9/2020

Leaders in SOC

On Monday evenings, I have joined forces with other leaders in SOC and we have a mastermind with our teams. I love these calls as I am inspired by our team members stepping out of their comfort zones and making things happen. It’s amazing watching break through’s happen. Plus, I am so proud of my personal team as we have added 101 new members to A Better Way since Friday! WOW! I am blessed to work with some really amazing people and know that every day, even more amazing people are joining us!

Happy Day Happy Place-Day 1,101 – Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,101 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Sunday – 11/8/2020

Happy Day Happy Place

Happy Day Happy Place! So fun to celebrate an amazing weekend – our convention and a huge Notre Dame win – with spending Sunday afternoon on the golf course. I just felt so much joy today and feel so blessed. When you are in the trenches, doing the work – on your business and on yourself – some days, you wonder if it is all worth it as it can be hard and not always fun. Today was one of those days when, I took a deep breath, smiled, and reminded myself that it is worth it. All the hard work, the pain, staying dedicated, and staying consistent even when I didn’t feel like, is worth it.

Whatever you are going through right now – Keep going, keep pushing. And know it is worth it!

A Better Way.
