I am a Warrior. Day 1,267 Finding Joy in the Journey

I am a Warrior A Yoga Warrior! Day 1,267 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 4/23/2021

I am a Warrior A Yoga Warrior! So fun to earn my Warrior t-shirt for attending yoga classes. I love making yoga part of my exercise routine.

I always loved yoga. It is one of my preferred workout methods as it connects body, breath, and mind. I was once told by a workout professional that going to the gym was better for me than yoga. I believed the person and cut yoga out of my life. Not too long after, I cut the gym out of my life too.

I realized that I love yoga. My body loves yoga. And it was the yoga that inspired me to workout in other areas. It was an important lesson for me to realize that I know my body and what is best for me more than anyone else does. When we listen to our bodies, we learn what we need to know.

About “Finding Joy”

And I’m off…. the 16-day adventure begins. The timing of this trip is interesting so I’m naming it “Finding Joy in the Journey.” I’ll be doing one dedicated post each day (at the end of the day or next morning). Since I typically post more than once a day.

You’ll find it as a black and white photo. I’ll share the joy of the journey (on the trip or through this season), where I’m finding it and what I’m learning. I hope to inspire myself along the way. And if I can inspire others too, that would be a gift. So, let the journey begin…

It was November 2017, and I was ready to head off on a sixteen-day trip.  Nine days before leaving, my mom, unexpectedly, passed away from a heart attack. It shook me to my core.  I had always been told the 40’s are the best years of your life.  And in a matter of three years, since turning the age of 40, I had gone through a divorce and lost both parents.

I contemplated canceling the trip though I knew my mom would not be happy with that decision. She would want me to continue living my life.  My parents did not raise me to sit back and watch life; instead to fully participate in every moment. So, I promised my parents to find joy in the journey every day on my sixteen-day trip and share my experience with others.

Little did I know what “Finding the Joy in the Journey” would turn into when I acted on the prompting to share my experience on a daily basis.  It helped me see life differently and my wish is that it will inspire others to find joy in their journey.

Traveling internationally-Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,265 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Wednesday – 4/21/2021

Traveling internationally

I have missed traveling internationally over the past year. Except for my one trip to the UK to see Steve, I’ve been home in the US for over a year. Versus the year before that I spent almost half the year out of the country. One of the things I love to do when I travel is visit local grocery stores. I believe it’s a great way to be introduced to the locality.

Tonight, Steve and I did a little exploring in our own community and checked out the Jusgo Supermarket, focused on Asian and Indian foods. It was fun to explore before having dinner at Mala Sichuan Bistro. It was a reminder of how much I have missed traveling the world!

Sculpt and Flow-Day 1,264-Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,264 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Tuesday – 4/20/2021

Sculpt and Flow. I love the Y6 Mix class

I like to have a schedule though I also like to mix things up. If every day were the same, day in and day out, I would go a little crazy. I think this is one of the big reasons I love the entrepreneurial life. I don’t have to be set to the same schedule every single day. Speaking of mixing things up, I love the Y6 Mix class that incorporates three different classes into one including a section from Sculpt & Flow with weights! I believe when you mix things up, life is more fun!

Coming Home-Day 1,263-Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,263 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Monday – 4/19/2021

Coming Home

It’s been a month since Steve Clear came home to Texas and I haven’t kicked him out yet. Ha ha ha!! For real, it’s been fantastic to finally live as husband and wife under one roof. We are finding our way in living with each other on a daily basis. We don’t always see things the same way (or call things by the same name – Ha ha ha), though it’s been fun to be together and learn from each other!

I love food Day 1,262 Finding Joy in the Journey

Day 1,262 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Sunday – 4/18/2021

I love food.

I always have loved food. Today, I hit day 300 on my intermittent fasting (IF) journey.

Being on an IF lifestyle, I have a new appreciation for when I’m really hungry versus eating out of boredom, my emotions or just because the clock says it is time to eat. I also have a new appreciation for the food I put into my body. If something isn’t good, why even eat it. I’ve become a lot pickier about the taste and quality of what I eat.

Since I’ve been on IF, I feel for the first time since I was a teenager that I’m not on a diet or worried about a diet and in the process have dropped over 10 pounds since I started IF. It’s truly been a life changing decision for me.

I love food.

Wow-Day 1,261-Finding Joy in the Journey-4/17/2021

Day 1,261 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Saturday – 4/17/2021

Wow! What an absolute joy. A 2003 Opus One. 18 years old and phenomenal. In 1999, I took my first trip to Napa Valley and we visited the Opus One winery. I was overwhelmed with Opus. We bought a couple of bottles over Overture as Opus seemed so far out of range. As time changes, so does your perspective. Though no matter your perspective and Opus is always an absolute treat!

Thank you for sharing this amazing wine with us, Susan & Juan. I appreciate you and your friendship more than you know.

Just Breathe- Friday – 4/16/2021

Day 1,260 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Friday – 4/16/2021

Inhale Exhale Just breathe.

Inhale. Exhale. Just breathe. Slow down and take it all in. Be present in the moment. These are the things that my yoga practice has helped me become more aware of. Today was five days in a row of attending class.

My daily practice helps me in all areas of my life. Just Breathe. Slowing down has actually made me more productive as I’ve become more present. I used to think it was all about how many things you can check off in a day though I would tend to burn myself out. I continue to work on my flow of taking time for and getting stuff done!

Inhale. Exhale. Just breathe. Slow down and take it all in. Be present in the moment.

Day 1,259 – Finding Joy in the Journey – Thursday – 4/15/2021

Such a fun evening catching up with my friends Donna Terrizzi Rooney and Janice Perry.  We were all neighbors when I lived in Waterside and they are part of my very first SendOutCards team. It was so great catching up and reminiscing like old times!

Stream Marketing

Steve and I have been working on building my website. I never thought I would be able to build a website as it seemed so overwhelming and daunting. Though using our new Stream Marketing product, I am blown away at how simple (and fun) it could be! I love my new website we put together for those that are looking to learn more about what I am up to. Link in the comments below – let me know what you think!
